With so many financial vehicles, products and solutions available to Canadians we believe that no one person can be an expert in every arena. During our process the initial meeting(s) will focused on listening to you, and identifying your goals and financial aspirations.
Once sufficient information has been shared we aim to educate you about all of the options, discuss the solutions available, and if necessary bring in other third party professionals to help you achieve your goals. Empowering you with the knowledge to make an educated decision is paramount in our process. Once a decision is made your advisor will place all of the financial products required, and monitor the progress over time.
This final monitoring stage is interactive and will require regularly scheduled meetings with you to hear about your evolving situation, and as your needs for change arise, with your permission we will make the adjustments as required.

Ian Mooney, Partner

Ian is a passionate independent Certified Financial Planner who is focused on helping our clients achieve their goals of financial independence. He takes pride in knowing the details well, yet he has the unique ability of explaining everything in clear, straight forward, and easy to understand language.

Before forming McLeod Mooney, Ian opened his first independent practice (Element Integrated Financial Solutions) in 2014. That same year he qualified for the Million Dollar Round Table – “The Premier Association of Financial Professionals” and earned the accolades of Rookie of the Year at Customplan Financial Advisors. Prior to entering the financial services industry, he enjoyed a prosperous career in mining and mineral exploration as a Business Development Manager for Inspectorate America Corp, Acme Analytical, and Bureau Veritas upstream metals & mining division. He also holds a diploma in Mining Engineering Technology (AScT.) via British Columbia Institute of Technology.

On a more personal note Ian lives’ and work’s in the city of Vancouver, he is a father to a wonderful little girl, he enjoys the outdoors, and stays active playing many sports; in particular rugby.
